Primary school students compel on getting education under open sky

The students of government primary school Kolalai in Puran tehsil have been awaiting reconstruction of their school building for the last many years.

They have demanded of the government to reconstruct the building of the school. Around 400 students either study under the open sky or sit in the torn out tents, provided to the school by Unicef after 2005 devastating earthquake.
Jamal Khan, a local resident said that the GPS Kolalai was consisting of four rooms out of which two rooms were badly devastated in 2005 earthquake due to which students of the area either studied under the open sky or torn out tents in this blazing hot weather.

He said 370 students were enrolled in the GPS Kolalai but the government had not shown any interest in its construction.

He said that most of the residents of the area were living a life below the poverty line.

Fazal Ahad, another local said they met the elected MNA and MPA for many times but except assurances practical steps yet to be taken for its reconstruction.

He said their children had also have a right to get education and state was responsible for ensuring free and quality education to every child of the country but there was clear injustice with them and being ignored in uplift projects even.

The local residents of Kolalai have demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to reconstruct the school building on priority bases otherwise they had to come on to roads for agitation.
